Our Journey: From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Handcrafted Jewelry Business
In 2018, we embarked on a journey that would transform our passion for handcrafted jewelry into a thriving home-based business. Our story began with a simple yet ambitious idea (from Maruné Founder): to create unique jewelry pieces using raw gemstones and a special type of cement for casting. This innovative approach inspired the name of our business, Kioo In Situ, meaning “crystals in place.”
The Early Days: Experimentation and Challenges
The initial phase was filled with experimentation. We spent countless hours perfecting our techniques, blending raw gemstones with cement to create stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces. However, our first night market was a humbling experience. Despite our enthusiasm, we faced numerous challenges and nearly gave up. But the unwavering support and encouragement from our family and friends kept us going. They believed in our vision and reminded us that we had something special that people would love to wear.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it brought unprecedented challenges for small businesses worldwide. Yet, we refused to let it dampen our spirits. We pivoted to an online store, reaching customers far and wide. The transition wasn’t easy, but it was a crucial step in keeping our dream alive.
